Audre Lorde
‘The answers you seek never come when the mind is busy, but when the body is still.’
This retreat is facilitated by Emma Thackham, HCPC Registered Art Psychotherapist, published children’s author, and award‑winning community artist.
Emma’s work bridges contemporary art practice, Jungian psychotherapy and therapeutic process. Her retreats offer psychologically grounded, creatively rich spaces where imagination, creativity and rest become a tool for insight, healing and renewal.
All art sessions are gentle, invitational and non‑clinical. No previous art experience is needed. There is no expectation to share unless you wish to.

Across the four days we will work with Jungian symbolism and archetypal imagery, creative journalling as a dialogue with the unconscious, art therapy prompts exploring identity, desire and direction, vision board creation aligned with the Summer Solstice, intention‑setting for the remaining months of the year, and creative writing workshops focused on voice, truth and narrative repair.
Summer teaches us about visibility, about allowing ourselves to be seen by our own awareness, and about claiming space without apology.
